I really wanted to adopt this dog.

He's super cute and his  name at the shelter is Frank. But I would most likely change his name if I got him. The only thing is finding a time that my parents could bring down our other dogs so they could look at him... I'm not sure if this will happen . Either way, I enjoyed seeing him.

it's been awhile, i know...

this semester is so much better than last semester. i can already tell it's going to be amazing. i'm enjoying most of my classes. my apartment and my neighbors continue to be a source of neverending joy.  i also am changing majors. nothing drastic really. it's not like i'm going from biochemistry to art history... just biology, without all of the bullshit chemistry. i don't know why i didn't do this earlier. it makes so much more sense.

a bunch of us tried to go salsa dancing last night. the place turned out to be a little sketchy and no one was really salsa dancing. they didn't really play that kind of music, which was unexpected.  how can you salsa dance to 'let me see your grill' by nelly? it's not really possible. we made the best of the situation though, which is all one can ever do.

i hope you're well.

I went to my first football game yesterday. It was the oaken bucket game (iu vs. purdue) so it was sort of a big event.  My friends and I were pretty excited to be there.  The atmosphere was great, because people sing songs and clap when different things happen in the game. My favorite was the dance that happens after a first down; that dance provided endless fun.

Into the third quarter, things started to look pretty gloomy for iu.  I was pretty upset about purdue kicking our bottoms and so were my friends.  We left shortly thereafter.

When I was leaving, I saw someone with a tshirt that said 'giving hoosiers a reason to hate engineers since 1863.'  I thought that was pretty amusing, more so than the 'purdouchebag' tshirts that I saw.

I bit into an apple the other day. A whole one. This trivial action was nothing short of amazing. It's been years since I've eaten an apple without cutting it up first.

The reason?

I've had braces since....I came out of the womb. Well, not that long, but a sizeable amount of time; perhaps five or more years.  I finally got them taken off this past weekend.

I really can't get over the fact that there are no braces on my teeth.  There's nothing there. My teeth are so unfamiliarly smooth.

So when I first took a bit of  the apple, I was a bit scared that it would hurt, or worse one of my teeth would become lodged in the apple itself. These were irrational fears  of course, and all went well.  What's next? Perhaps I'll eat some laffy taffy or something.  Needless to say, I am loving the fact that I don't have braces.

Oh damn, I don't think I've laughed this hard in a long time...

I saw the music video for Ok Go's "A million ways."  I would recommend checking it out. It's worth it.
